About me
Greetings Warriors,
I would like to take a moment to talk about yours truly… me, my background, and how I got into the NFT space. Let’s start from the beginning with a proper introduction. My name is Peter Romulus, a 37-year-old Haitian American residing in NYC. My mother migrated to the United States as a teenager with no money, and when I was born, she was homeless and had to find shelter in the subway system. That’s right, you heard correctly. It was one of those tragic scenes where a mother is down on her luck with no place to go. Despite the struggles, acts of kindness from friends and family allowed my mother to get back on her feet. This experience taught me the warrior's mindset - where there is a will, there is a way. That's why I believe in the power of acts of kindness and practice them regularly.
Growing up, I was a shy kid who had good grades, but I fought a lot. I was almost expelled from school for excessive fighting, and I will reveal more about that in the future. I was interested in law studies and was always placed in specialized or advanced classes. However, during high school, I fell in love with technology and became a hustler with a side business fixing computers and making bootleg music and game CDs. I once hacked the computer lab at my school and made my network, which impressed my lab teacher. I joined a mentorship program that paired me with a technologist proficient in the field, and I enrolled in The Microsoft and Networking certifications, which helped me land a job at Deutsche Bank when I was 19.
Nowadays, I still work at a bank, leading a global team managing post-trade activities. Although I love what I do, I find the corporate world rigid, harsh, and unforgiving. This world molded my persona from a young age. I'm a caring guy, but I can be a shark when needed. I have to be in order to be successful in this world.
When I first dabbled into the NFT space, I was only interested in PFP projects on kingpr.org/craft. However, I knew right away that there was something special going on here, something unique with a lot of potential. After a few months of exposure to PFP, I ended up getting my first 1/1 art from @brandt_kl and @WARM_PROD, and I was in love with 1/1 art. I was enchanted by the uniqueness of each artist and the beautiful works produced. Joining the NFT community has been an amazing outlet for me to escape the day-to-day cold world of Corporate America. The people I have met here are a big contrast to the people I normally interact with. The NFT community is colorful, lively, caring and filled with greater purpose than generating money. Its underlying qualities are to inspire creativity and spawn positivity. I feel as if I can call you guys family, and that's why I tend to share so much. In the real world, you would never catch me using phrases of love or any funny looking emoji, but in this space, it comes naturally to me, and I enjoy it. I plan on staying in this community for a long time.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey into the NFT space and my background. I hope that it inspires you to continue to pursue your passions and find your own escape from the harsh realities of life.
